4. A maximum of three photographs per category may be entered; as there are four categories, you can submit up to twelve entries. The Categories are: Landscape, Wildlife, People and Fungi.
The category is determined by what you consider to be the main subject (point of interest) of your Photograph.
eg. Landscape; may contain people to provide perspective, but they should not dominate the picture.
eg. If you have a photograph of a bird standing on someone's head, it is up to you to judge whether the bird or the person's reaction is the most interesting aspect of the picture and hence what category you enter it under.

5. The first three Photographs sent by an entrant in each category will be deemed their official entries. It is not possible to replace an entry with a later submission.

6. Wild or Outer Edge Magazine and YHA Bushwalking have the right to publish any prize-winning entry.

9. If you are submitting entries in the "People" category, it is your responsibility to ensure that the people in it will not object to the photograph being published. In general if it is evident from the photograph that the people in it were aware and consenting for it to be taken, it is not necessary to obtain formal permission for publication, however you are advised to obtain it for:
- Close-ups (head-and shoulders) where a subject was unaware they were being photographed.
- Photographs of anyone in a situation they may consider embarrassing or defamatory.

10. The winning entries in each category and the overall winner will selected by an independent panel of judges from Wild Magazine.
